Keep Islip Clean (KIC) has begun a bottle and can recycling program here at Brentwood High School.
There are currently five recycling bins located around the school: Ross front lobby, Five Corners, Dipietro Center, Sonderling main lobby, and room 1127.
We are excluding the cafeterias as of now to avoid the collection of lunch waste. We plan on recycling ALL bottles and cans (including non-refundables).

Do you have any used, unwanted sneakers lying around the house and feel bad about throwing them in the garbage adding unnecessary, non-biodegradable waste to our landfills?
If so…. Keep Islip Clean will be collecting used sneakers for Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program.
Nike uses your recycled sneakers to make track and playground surfaces, cushioning for outdoor basketball and tennis courts, and new Nike products. Bring all donated sneakers to room my classroom (room 1127) by Friday, February 15th. Some guidelines: - Sneakers can be any brand (not just Nike) - Sneakers can be in any condition - Sorry, NO SHOES OR BOOTS - No sneakers with any metal components (apparently metal jams up the recycling machinery used in the process)
